A couple of weeks ago I treated myself to a facial. I decided this was necessary when I stumbled upon a sign: gift certificates to Skoah hidden amidst a load of paperwork.
This wasn’t my first facial. Nor was it my first time at Skoah.
But it was my first time in a long time, so I thought I would visit and try the very first thing I had.
The quickie facial.
The quickie is a half hour of customized cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing and skin analysis. Somehow, they found the time to throw in a mean – all too short – neck massage.
For me, the quickie was the gateway into many of Skoah’s other facials.
My facialist that day, Dora, was extremely sweet and kind enough to answer my many questions.
She gave me a customized facial consisting of kream kleanser, a salon-grade exfoliator, skin quench serum, eye kandy, face skotion 30 and lip love.
Kream Kleanser is a hydrating, gentle cleanser that I’ve been told is suitable for all skin types. It felt amazing!
The salon-grade exfoliator is, unfortunately, only available in the form of Skoah facials. Unfortunate, as this was the best part of the facial. It has malic acid and is suitable for most skin types, except those with very congested skin.
For reference: most of the time I have pretty calm combination skin. When I went for my facial, I had some light congestion on my jaw and the exfoliator was OK.
In fact, it was better than okay! The exfoliator really cleared up some of the inflammation I’ve been having and left me with really soft skin.
Seriously, so soft.
I kept touching my face the rest of the day.
The serum was pretty moisturizing and had a pleasant scent. Ditto the eye cream. The moisturizer was really nice. Very light and gave me really dewy, pretty skin.
I loved the spa experience. It was only 20 minutes, but I got a little slice of fancy spa treatment anyway, complete with heated chaise, dimmed lighting, hot towels to rinse off product and a neck, ear and scalp massage.
Oh, and a lovely note and memento for my visit.
I’m so glad I found those gift certificates. It was a great way to treat my skin and to test drive products.
If I had the money, I would definitely go back!
